WHAT WE BELIEVE
Every child isn’t the same. So why should every school be?
Harmony Public Schools believes each student can achieve their own unique, full potential through a caring and collaborative academic environment that emphasizes personalized learning and innovative instructional methods.
WHAT MAKES HARMONY DIFFERENT
Engaging Education: Our project-based learning engages critical thinking skills and makes learning fun with hands-on activities that educate and excite.
Skills for Tomorrow: Our curriculum has been recognized by the TEA & others for providing students the STEM skills they need for the in-demand jobs of the future.
College Ready: Harmony has a 100% college acceptance rate, and almost two-thirds of our students are the first in their families ever to attend college.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does Harmony Public Schools charge tuition to attend?
Absolutely not. Harmony is a tuition-free, Texas public charter school. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to attend a high-quality public school that fits their individual needs regardless of income.
Who is eligible to attend Harmony Public Schools?
All children residing in a Harmony school’s geographic boundary who meet registration requirements are eligible to attend. Unlike most other schools, though, Harmony’s geographic boundaries are much wider and generally include the entire community in which the school resides, meaning that all students in the area – regardless of neighborhood or family income level – have the same opportunity to attend a high-quality Harmony school.
What documents do I need to apply?
No documents are needed just to apply. However, if your child is selected for enrollment during the lottery process, you will need to provide a few basic documents that verify your child’s identity and home address.
I have a child in Harmony already, and would like to enroll their sibling for the first time. Do I still need to apply?
Yes. Siblings of current Harmony students still need to apply, but are given priority status if a campus lottery is needed.

SCHOOL START DATE DELAYED
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Harmony Science Academy-Cypress was informed Thursday that a few, small inspection requests will need to be completed before we can officially open our doors to families in our new Cy-Fair home for the 2019-2020 school year.
Therefore, we will not be able to begin our school year Monday, August 26.
We believe our families deserve our full transparency, so we wanted to provide additional details on the requests made by the inspection team:
Changes to signage: Add address number to outside of building, reposition exterior sign to point toward street, add more specific names to utility room doors.
Minor Repair: Add plastic caps to exterior pipes to prevent debris collection, complete sidewalk pour from fourth exit to playground, change hinges on utility room door to make self-closing, caulk one-inch hole in gym wall.
Other: Complete installation of fire safety box to front gate, repaint red stripe near dismissal line, add acoustic padding to gym to eliminate possible echo during fire tests, adjust description setting on fire alarm control panel.
As you can see, these requests are reasonable and easily addressed. Most have already been completed since Thursday’s walk-through. However, due to the availability of the inspection team, the building cannot be reinspected until Monday morning.
While we are disappointed by the delay as we are sure you are, our staff is fully prepared – and very excited – to begin the 2019-2020 school year in our state-of-the-art new Cy-Fair home as soon as we receive a final thumbs up.
We’ll keep you informed as soon as we learn more from the inspection team Monday.
Thank you for your patience and thank you for being a part of the Harmony family.
Sincerely,
Evangelena Taylor | Principal
Harmony Science Academy – Cypress
Cypress Opening Date Postponed
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Due to an unexpected scheduling delay in the building inspection process, we must inform you that the first day of school for Harmony Science Academy-Cypress will no longer be this week.
We recognize that this delay may be an inconvenience for some of our families. However, our top priority is creating a safe, welcoming environment where learning flourishes and students benefit from the most state-of-the-art resources and facilities available.
Our projected first day of school will be Monday, August 26. We expect to be able to provide an update to parents early Friday with more details.
Finally, we would like to thank all of the families who participated in our campus orientation earlier this week. It was a pleasure meeting so many new faces. We can’t wait to get to know your families even better this school year in our new Cy-Fair home.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Evangelena Taylor | Principal
Harmony Science Academy-Cypress
IMPORTANT UPDATE – 8/21/19
IMPORTANT UPDATE – NO SCHOOL
Due to follow up inspections that needs to be made by the city and fire marshal, there will be NO school this week. An announcement will be made on Friday as to our new start date.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
UPDATE – 8.21.19
We have just been informed that an inspection is scheduled for noon today and there is NO access to our school today. Please DO NOT come to the campus as no one will be allowed in the building.
We will keep you posted as we get more information. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Orientation and Time Change
Our final fire inspection is being postponed until Tuesday afternoon. To ensure that safety is in place for at least 24 hours before students enter our building, we need to move our Orientation location to another Harmony school and change the time.
Houston, TX 77084)
What do you need to bring:
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we complete construction for our new school.
Harmony teachers will receive a significant salary increase
“We are very happy to continue to reward our staff for their dedication to excellence,” said Fatih Ay, CEO of Harmony Public Schools. “Every year our 34,000 plus students consistently exceed state education standards. Our teacher’s hard work is recognized annually by major publications, such as US News Best High Schools, and noted children’s advocacy groups.”
In addition to a base salary increase of between $3,500 & $5,000, teachers will be awarded a stipend of $1,000 if they have between 5 and 9 years of classroom experience. Those with more than 10 years’ experience will receive $2,000. “We see this as an investment not only in our teachers but in our students as well,” Ay said.
The new salary schedule follows Governor Greg Abbott’s signing of the $11.5 Billion school finance reform package. Harmony chose to target additional funding into pay & benefits for teachers and staff. These increases have been presented to the HPS Board of Directors, and will be up for approval after receiving regulations from TEA.
